  1. EDITORIAL TASKS

The Editor agrees to do the following:

A full Content Edit. This concentrates on strengthening the overall readability of the manuscript. While carrying out this process, we are looking for ways of improving the structure and length of sentences and paragraphs. We also look for ways the flow of the narrative can be smoothed and make the dialogue between your characters more realistic and contemporary for the period that your story is set. Also, we will look at and suggest ways of fleshing out the personalities of your characters to make them more rounded and three-dimensional. Obvious simple spelling, grammar, and punctuation mistakes will also be rectified. However the company does not undertake a full technical edit, so therefore the company will not be held responsible for any major errors in terms of spelling, grammar, and punctuation.

A final read through is then carried out after the author has applied the suggested edits and comments. This is used as a quality control check to make sure the copy reads well and to check for anything that might not have been picked up on the first pass.

The editor will also carry out any other services that have been agreed to within the companies service remit. This includes services such as research and copy-typing
